10 Tips to prepare for your Boudoir Session - Raleigh, NC Boudoir Photographer
A boudoir Session is such an amazing experience, and wheter you already booked your experience or your still playing with the thought, as a Boudoir photographer in Fayetteville, NC I decided to write down my 10 best tips on how to prepare to make your session absolutely amazing!
1. Moisturize, Moisturize, Moisturize.
I can't stress this enough. Even the days leading up to the session, make sure you give your skin some extra love. On the day of the Session, put on Shea Butter or Body Oil for an extra glow!
2. Mani's & Pedi's!
While I see a Boudoir Experience like a day at the spa, full of self love and self care, checking into the nail salon on a day before your session helps to relax you and glam you up. Make sure your nails look pretty, but don't go too crazy - the focus is gonna be on you and your assets, not your nails!
3. Eat Light
Lots of food bloats us or weights us down. I know, that if I eat a pizza in the evening I can ALWAYS still feel it sitting in my tummy in the morning. The day off and the day before your session, try to eat light meals that don't weigh you down or bloat you, but be sure to eat something! Hangry doesn't make for sexy Images!
4. Drink Lots!
Just like the moisturizer and the light eating, drinking lots of water helps flush out icky toxins and makes your skin glow! Make sure to drink an extra bottle (or 2!) for a couple of days before the session. Your body will love you for it!
5. Have a fun day at the mall with a good (and honest!) friend.
I get asked all the time "What should I wear?" and i always give the same answer. Grab a friend who will honestly tell you if something suits you, go to the mall and try on stuff! Different styles, different colors, make it into a dress up party. By trying out different stuff, you can figure out what you love on yourself and what looks good and what you feel good in! You can have on the sexiest piece of lingerie, but if you don't feel good in it, it won't work!
6. Pamper yourself.
A bubble bath, a hair mask, a face mask - treat yourself to make yourself feel extra good! If you feel good, you look good. Put in some extra work and glow glow glow!
7. Get waxed!
Now I know, this one is scary - BUT oh so worth it. Bumps and stubbles, good bye. Just fresh, beautiful skin! If you don't want to go there, shave with coconut oil - an amazing trick to get rid of those pesky bumps!
8. Make a Playlist!
We all have these songs that makes us turn into an exotic dancer and just make us feel absolutely amazing! Put together a list of your favorite jams that make you feel good and bring you in a good mood - during your session we can listen it and rock out together!
9. Make sure you book your appointment after your monthlies!
Yes, TMI but most of us don't feel our best right before or during that time of the month. Make sure to check your calender for those days before your schedule your session!
10. Use Sunscreen!
The week or 2 weeks before your session, make sure you use plenty of sunscreen for two reasons. You don't want crazy tan lines and you also don't want a crazy sunburn. We all want that natural glow, but keep it healthy and don't overdo!
